By The World’s Best School Prizes, established in 2022 by T4 Education in collaboration with Accenture Express, is an event to celebrate schools post-COVID that are making a difference beyond the classroom. According to Argyll and Bute Council, the first awards were held in 2022.
Also, three UAE schools are among the list of finalists for the year 2025. In addition, the recognized schools are:
- Dubai British School Jumeirah Park (DBSJP) for Community Collaboration.
- Arbor School for Environmental Action.
- Applied Technology Schools – Um Al Quwain Campus (ATS-UAQ) for Innovation.
This year marks the first time that the UAE schools have reached the Top 10 Finalists in the World’s Best School Prizes. In addition, all three of the above schools present a unique model of education and are redefining the learning experiences.

Arbor School

Also, their education system goes beyond the traditional walls as they inspire students to think and help the planet. Hence, this ecological school promotes eco-literacy, sustainability, and environmental justice.
The Principal of Arbor School, Gemma Thornley, views this amazing achievement as a validation for moving towards the new means of providing education, along with taking care of the climate and planet.
She further says that the school is reshaping education standards how they should be by involving students to provide solutions for global issues.
What makes them different:
- Global citizenship: This school aims to cultivate pupils who are confident, compassionate, and capable of making a positive impact.
- Specialized teaching space: The school has a designated space called Reflection Garden that brings in natural light and creates an outdoor space and an indoor space for meetings, events, and classes.
- Biopark: The biopark provides a great opportunity for students to delve into the “farm and fork” cycle. In addition, the products grown here are then cooked by the students and served in their lunch.
Applied Technology Schools – Um Al Quwain Campus
And here comes the third school from the UAE that’s in the Top 10 Finalist List: the Applied Technology Schools – Um Al Quwain Campus.
This campus of the school has brought AI, sustainability, and engineering into its education. In addition, they believe that these elements help pupils solve real-life challenges.
